See Hazel?

by Jen on June 3, 2010

All my troubles seemed so far away,

I was running down the driveway,

Oh, I believe in yesterday.

I see half the sights I used to see,

there’s a shadow hangin over me. . .*

In a terrible head-on collision with Gladys Saturday, Hazel’s eye was ruined beyond repair.

After her emergency vet visit, she spent Memorial day weekend in a comfy lap in a dimly lit house, watching movies like The Blind Side** on cable.

This morning’s surgery will trade the contents of her eye for a prosthetic ball.

*Both good and bad news get the song treatment here.

**I know.  We were so out of it with the shock of the accident that the joke was completely missed till credits rolled.

Oh, Hazel. What a bad weekend you had. You look like you will adapt and bounce back in no time, though. Here’s to a quick and easy recovery.

Poor girl! Bostons are such resilent little dogs, I’m sure she will be right as rain in no time!

Poor Hazel. I nearly poked Clover’s eye out with my finger in our first week together, but now I’m beginning to understand the invisible forcefield rule that one must follow near these precious, protrudent orbs.
