Vote for Bowie!

Meet Bowie.

7 months old.  Boston Terrorist.  Named for David Bowie.  Like the man, he’s a great dancer, fits in with every crowd, and is always in fashion (if one considers dirt a fashion). But there’s another side, a less glamorous side; he’s really odd.

He’s oddly marked, he acts oddly, he has odd eyes that don’t match.  People stare. Which is nice, really, because he likes to stare right back, allowing ample opportunity for him to hypnotize people with his oddness.  Then he usually licks their nose.  Or pokes them in the eye, whichever takes his fancy.  Sometimes he does both.  All of this oddness has revealed the truth- Bowie is an alien!

The evidence is overwhelming: He enjoys sitting on cats.  His favorite place to curl up and sleep is on top of an old pit bull. On his home planet, there is no furniture, apparently. He loves to be up high and is often found places where sane dogs would not tread. He is very accident-prone. Clearly, he is not used our gravity.  He will eat anything, even things that are not normally considered food, like flowers or used Kleenex, which points to different nutritional requirements for space travelers.  When he decides he doesn’t want to do something, he alters his density and changes into The World’s Heaviest Puppy, a trick Science would love to know about. He sometimes leaps very high and has to be grabbed before he launches into orbit.  He seems genuinely offended by dogs that have tails and frequently tries to remove the appendage for them; must be a cultural thing.

He often receives communications from his mother ship and will stop to listen, head titled for better reception.  Perhaps it is a call to return, but he loves Earthlings  and their cheeses too much to leave this planet.

Since living with Bowie is really living with a mostly benevolent, lovable alien from another planet, his official name is Space Oddity.  One day, his Oddness will save Earth from certain disaster!  (Was it mentioned that he also has delusions of grandeur?)

Bowie sounds like my kind of dog!! Yay Bowie, don’t bow to convention. They say odd, we say unique.
