Tovin’s Almost the Best entry

Tovin was ALMOST a flyball champion, or an ultimate frisbee superstar. He was almost a sheep herder, or a agility master. He was almost perfectly formed. He was also almost dead when I found him, along with 4 other ‘lethal white’ littermates with a note on front porch of my shelter one blistering August day. “We’re Aussie Cattle Dog/Shepherd mixes. We’re 8 weeks old.”

I poured them out of the crate, sweating, as the puppies seized from heat exhaustion. Their fevers were almost lethal levels–105.1, as we quickly hydrated them and rocked them to ease their fear and confusion. I snatched the stapler from a nearby desk and threw it to the floor with a bang. Almost all of the puppies turned and looked. “We got lucky,” another technician said. “Almost all can hear and see.” Almost.

Tovin was the only littermate with significant hearing loss (he’s profoundly deaf) and vision issues (he’s got limited vision in only one eye.) That hasn’t stopped him from being the happiest dog on the face of the planet–and there’s no almost there. With a constant smile on his face, he lives to fetch–scented kongs of course, prowling with his nose down and one ear standing stoically. He was the master of his puppy class, and works as an advocate for responsible merle breeding through my rescue. Touch training has taught him the basics and we’re almost ready for agility. And if it weren’t for the cowbell hanging around his neck, we almost lost him one dark night. A sturdy collar and tag wouldn’t be ‘almost’ a necessity for’s his only defense against the great big world around him. A world I’m all too happy to share with him.

What would suggest I do if a coworker has asked me to add them in Facebook and I decline because I do not have friend in Facebook from work that’s my personal life and the coworker has made inappropriate comments in the past and comments about my Facebook page. Is this social media stalking? My name on Facebook is not my employee name at work, I’m using my personal fake email name so I am not even sure how they found me
